Welcome to the Pharmacy Museum!

The Pharmacy Museum takes you on a journey through time - from the hut of an ancient healer to the age when there was a mysterious atmosphere to pharmacies and medical remedies bore mystifying and incomprehensible names; from an alchemist's laboratory to the realm of a Soviet assistant pharmacist where all kinds of drug mixtures and powders were produced, and further to the achievements of the 21st-century science.

The museum is housed in an 18th-century landmark building. Dedicated to presenting the history of pharmacology and pharmacies in Latvia, the museum features collections of 17th-19th-century documents and books, glassware of the pharmacies, prescription signatures, medication dosage forms and devices for producing them, as well as samples of Latvian-produced medications from the 1920s-1930s and the present day.
